Temples in Japan

I’m going to talk about temples. There are a lot of famous temples in Japan. I think Kyoto prefecture is one of the most famous places which have many famous temples. For example, Kiyomizu Temple, Kinkaku Temple, Ginkaku Temple so on. Do you know why those temples were built? Japanese people believe in religion. Almost all of them believe in Buddhism. And there are a lot of denominations in Buddhism. For example, Jyoudosyu, Jyoudoshinsyu, Soutousyu, Rinzaisyu and Zensyu so on. There is the idol who is worshiped by believers in each temple. And we need a place to worship our idol. So that is a purpose of building a temple. As you know, originally, some temples are not built for sightseeing. But many Japanese people and foreigners often visit some temples for worshipping or sightseeing. Because of this, some temples became famous and sightseeing spots. In some temples, some original temple’s items are sold. I think it is interesting for you to collect them for a memory of visiting Japan.
